Life Update

Leaves are falling and changing color. Temperatures are cooling, and we have turned from air conditioner to heat. My eleventh grader from last spring is now a senior who is taking two classes at the local career and technical education center. My homeschool journey is ending, which has prompted me to ask myself, “What on earth are you going to do with yourself now?”

I am still writing. In fact, in the last few months I have worked on three different manuscripts. I love each story equally, yet, it seems as though I need to be busy in order to write on any of them.

A few months ago I was talking to my husband about some Scripture that I thought would make a  good sermon. “I think it would make a better song,” he said. Within five minutes I had the first verse and a chorus. I sang it Wednesday night at church, and everyone seemed to like it.

I’m still preaching, too. In fact, tomorrow night I am scheduled to speak at one of the churches I grew up in.

Still, with the twelfth grader at school all day, and my husband out of town a lot for work, I ask myself again, “Whatcha gonna do, Mama?” LOL

What I did was apply to the local career and technical education center for their massage therapy course. At the end of the program, I can take my boards. If I pass, I can receive my license for massage therapy.

From homeschool to Bible college to massage therapy, and yes, I am as surprised as you. πŸ™‚

There is a print book that I need in an alternate format. I’ve been on the phone with the publisher about that. I also have to figure out how to get there each day. Then there’s learning my way around the place. So, I’m busy.

Busy means that at odd times of the day and night, stories come to me out of the blue. I mentioned I had been working on three different ones, right? Well, one takes place on the Oregon trail with a mountain man and a widow, one takes place in 1907 Kansas with a blind girl and a lawman, and the third takes place in 1941 in West Virginia with a nurse and a doctor from New York. I have to admit, I’m having fun. LOL

Here’s hoping your October is going well. And, here’s saying my apology for not keeping up with this blog. To those who are my faithful readers, thank you, and God bless.
